Summer is on its way! And with it comes the second Queen’s Boundary Street Party. This year’s party will be on Sunday 23rd June. To get us started we will be holding a planning get-together on Saturday 18 May 4.30-6.00pm in Foster Hall, Wellesley Road. It will be an opportunity to put ideas forward about the day and say how you would like to be involved. There are lots of jobs to do, whatever your interests are and however much time you have, even if you only have a little to spare.
If you want to get involved there are a range of things you can help with, this includes: Making bunting; Setting up and clearing up on the day; Serving drinks; Helping with the raffle; Supervising activities. Talking to neighbours on the day about local issues and interests; Also, we need face painters, singers, photographers and musicians.
We are planning activities based on last year’s party successes but have new ones planned too such as: Volleyball; beach area; Board games; Hoopla; Bike servicing; City Safe; Treasure hunt/quiz; Live music; Organ recital; Visits from Community Support Officers; Cllr. and MP surgeries;
If you can’t make the meeting on May 18thbut want to get involved there will be a bunting making and further street party planning events on Sunday 2nd June 2-5pm and Saturday 8th June 4.30-6.30pm
