Crime, Security and Safety Police Workshop Thursday 25 July 6.30pm – Quaker Centre Jewell Road

Dear Neighbours,

Stella Creasy our local MP is holding a workshop with our new local police team next Thursday 25 July at 6.30pm – 8.00pm ( please note it is their intention to finish this discussion before sundown).

This workshop will be an interactive event to allow residents in Walthamstow to feed into the policing priorities for our new safer neighbourhood teams which have recently been bolstered by a new Inspector. This will include looking at the timing of opening hours of our police station in Walthamstow town centre, the challenges in individual wards and recent concerns about burglary and street harassment in Walthamstow and details of how to set up neighbourhood watch schemes. All local residents are welcome to attend this event which you can drop into at any point, and at the end of the evening the Borough Commander will join us to reflect on the issues raised by local residents and how the police can respond to them.

This event is free but to ensure there are enough materials for all those who wish to attend please can you RSVP Stella (stella@workingforwalthamstow.org.uk) if you wish to attend and if possible which ward you are a resident of in Walthamstow. Representatives of the local council will also be joining this workshop. Please also feel free to share this invitation with other residents you feel may be interested in this event.

I hope you will be able to participate in this discussion to help ensure our local police are informed about the concerns of local residents and residents are able to understand how we can work with the police to improve street safety.
