Hope you are enjoying the sunshine. One of many days I hope, but in particular 22 June for the third QBC Street Party. We were lucky with the weather last year, but not so good in 2012. Two events coming up which I hope you will be interested in.
Bunting and Craft Event 8 June – 2-5pm Foster Hall, Wellesley Road
To get us all in the mood for the street party, QBC will be holding a bunting making and craft event on 8 June in Foster Hall. We are looking for helpers to cut out or sew bunting. We will also be preparing craft activities for the main street party. This may include cutting out footballer shapes, flags, preparing labels for tin can alley. In addition to bringing yourself, if you have any material you can donate and/or empty tin cans, and if you have a sewing machine that you could bring that would be fantastic. If you only bring yourself, you will also be very welcome.
Street Party 22 June – Foster Hall and Thomas Gamuel Park
We are also looking for helpers for the main street party. This could include, helping to set up, helping to clear away, helping out on the BBQ, helping to serve tea and coffees. We are particularly looking for – facepainters, musicians (especially a pianist who could accompany an opera singer) people to help organise school sports games e.g. three-legged race, egg and spoon races, wheelbarrow races etc. Whatever you are help with is really welcome.
Please find attached our poster for the street party. Please put up in your windows, bike shed, garden gate etc.
