Open 3:00pm to 6:30pm Thursdays to buy affordable food, Stafford Hall in our community living room.

The pantry provides low-cost things to eat during the cost of living crisis. It is different to a food bank because the supplies are not free and you can choose what you take. You can pay by debit/credit card.

What’s available with vary but will be a mixture of tinned or dried staples and fresh fruit or vegetables.

For example, one week, the £4.50 shopping bag contained bread plus a choice of 4 canned and 5 fresh items, as well as some freebie treats. Elsewhere this would have cost over £15.

It’s open to all so pop in to see what’s there. Its a warm homely place to relax, so stay until 7.30pm for:

  • hot drinks and snacks
  • chating with neighbours
  • reading books or magazines
  • playing a game
  • doing arts and crafts
  • taking part in a community meeting

This community living room is also open from 2:00 until 6:00pm on Sundays.

The pantry is partnership. It’s entirely run by QBC volunteers while the provisions come from The Hornbeam. It’s part funded by Waltham |Forest Council and St the non-religious venue provided by St Barnabas Church.

Help get details of the pantry to everyone who needs it: via contacts you have in schools, community networks, housing associations, faith groups and beyond.
